Privacy Policy
Last updated: 28 September 2026
Cuffy is a blood pressure diary. Cuffy is made by JCOM LLC, 1309 Coffeen Avenue STE 1200, Sheridan, Wyoming 82801, United States ("we", "us"), which is the data controller for any personal data described in this policy. The short version: your readings stay on your iPhone. There is no account, we don't know who you are, and your health information is never sent to us.
What the app stores, and where
- Your readings (systolic and diastolic pressure, pulse, date and time, arm, body position, tags and notes), your target and your settings are stored only on your device, in the app's private storage. The app does not store them in iCloud or send them to any server. If you delete the app, this data is deleted with it.
- Reminders are local notifications scheduled on your device. They never pass through a server.
- Reports. PDF and CSV exports are created on your device. They go only where you choose to share them (for example by email, AirDrop or printing), and what happens to them afterwards is up to you and the service you share them with.
Apple Health
Saving to Apple Health is optional and part of Cuffy Pro. If you turn it on and give permission, Cuffy writes your blood pressure and pulse readings to Apple Health. Cuffy does not read any data from Apple Health. Data from Apple Health is never used for advertising or marketing, never sent to our server, and never sold or shared with anyone. You can change or withdraw this permission at any time in the Health app or in iOS Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices → Cuffy.
What we collect
We do not collect names, email addresses, precise locations, contacts, or any of your readings or health values.
- Anonymous usage statistics and crash reports. To understand which features are used and to fix crashes and freezes, the app sends anonymous events and crash and freeze reports to our own server (telemetry.jcom.llc), run by JCOM LLC. Events look like "reading logged", onboarding steps or "paywall viewed"; crash reports are Apple's diagnostic reports from MetricKit. The language includes your device's region setting; the App Store country is that of your account, not your location; and none of this is used for advertising or to build a profile. They carry a random install ID, the device model, the app and iOS version, the language and the App Store country, and no name, account, or readings, health values or notes. When a crash report arrives, the server also records the IP address it came from and the country derived from it, to find problems that affect a region; this is kept only as long as needed to fix the crash. We do not use any third-party analytics, advertising or crash-reporting services.
- Purchases. Subscriptions and one-time purchases are handled by Apple. To check that a purchase is active, the app uses RevenueCat, a service that receives Apple's purchase receipt together with an anonymous app user ID and basic device information. Neither we nor RevenueCat receive your name, email or payment details. Manage or cancel in Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions. Apple handles the payment; we never see your Apple ID. The app learns whether Pro is active. When you start a trial, a purchase or a restore, the anonymous event records which Pro option was chosen (monthly, yearly or lifetime), so we can see how the paywall performs. It is not linked to you.
- Email. If you write to us, we keep your message to answer it. We don't add you to any list.
What we don't do
- No advertising, no ad tracking, no selling or sharing of data with anyone.
- No account. Nothing to sign up for, nothing to log in to.
- No location, camera, microphone or contacts access.
Your choices and rights
- Delete a reading in the app, or delete everything the app holds by deleting the app.
- Turn saving to Apple Health off in Cuffy's settings, or withdraw the permission in the Health app. Readings already saved to Apple Health stay there until you delete them in the Health app.
- Turn reminders off in the app, or for the whole app in iOS Settings → Notifications → Cuffy.
- Crash and freeze reports reach us only if "Share With App Developers" is on in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements; you can turn it off there at any time. The anonymous usage events described above contain no personal data.
- Where a law such as the GDPR (EU/UK) or the CCPA (California) gives you rights to access, correct, delete or port personal data, or to object to its processing, you can exercise them by emailing us. We do not sell or share personal data as defined by the CCPA. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
Data retention and security
Anonymous usage and crash data is kept only as long as needed to understand and fix problems. Email you send us is kept as long as needed to answer it. Data on your device is protected by iOS device encryption and is never transmitted to us.
Health information
Cuffy is a diary, not a medical device. It does not measure blood pressure, diagnose any condition or give treatment advice. Talk to your doctor about your readings. In an emergency, call your local emergency number.
Children
Cuffy is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If we change this policy we'll update the date at the top and, for meaningful changes, mention it in the app's release notes.
